Become a RATS member today and receive discounts on events, spin classes, coached swim sessions, yoga classes and social events. You will also receive a regular newsletter with local and national news on the tri scene, and we welcome and encourage you to proudly wear our club kit at training, and at events.
RATS and Triathlon NZ now have an integrated membership system (GameDay) whereby joining ‘your club name’ you will also see the Tri NZ membership options and no longer need to join Tri NZ separately. The membership process takes about 5mins and should look very similar to what you have seen from our club before. But please let us know if you have any questions or need help.

NOTE: Registration may incur an online booking fee. As a full Adult RATS member you are also a member of TriNZ; this means you do not have to pay the TriNZ One Day Membership fee when you register for a TriNZ event.
Membership Process & Structure
Registration for membership for 2023/24 is now live. Register here. Follow the instructions on the Register Now pages to complete the registration process.
Club membership runs annually from 1 October to 31 September and membership fees are discussed and agreed on annually at the RATS AGM in mid October.
If you register after 1 August, your membership will be rolled over to the following year.
RATS is proud to have a number of Life Members as part of the club. If you are a Life Member, please choose the LM membership category when renewing your annual Club membership. There is no club registration fee for Life Members.
If you are a Life Member, you will be emailed a promo code to use in the registration process. Please email us if you have not received this promo code.

TriNZ membership is included in ALL club members registration fee.
There are many reasons for joining RATS with one of the main benefits to becoming a member of TriNZ; and being a member of TriNZ includes insurance benefits; access to high performance training; youth development; event endorsement and marketing; and voting rights.
At the 2018 RATS AGM, members voted to include TriNZ membership fees as part of the RATS membership fee. Accordingly, the RATS membership fees include a membership with TriNZ.

Wetsuit Hire
RATS has wetsuits in a range of sizes for hire.
We do ask for a bond of $100 which is returned to you when the wetsuit is returned to us. Hiring a wetsuit from RATS is a great opportunity for those looking to get into open water swimming or triathlon but aren’t sure about making the leap to buying a wetsuit.
