Training Schedule
Weekly schedule of training sessions and events run by RATs, weekend sessions are updated on a Thursday pm once weekly email has gone out. Advance listings are what’s expected but is subject to change.
Special Events & Notices:
25 July: No Group Ride! The Okororie Fun Ride is on so the usual Sunday group ride is cancelled. Email if you need more info or want to ride over with Jamie if 70 k’s isn’t far enough for you.
Winter Du #3: 8 August at the Waipa Car Park. Enter early and avoid the rush on the day!
Tough Rats Challenge: 14 August - a group discount has been organized for Rats at this running of the Tough Guy & Gal Challenge at Lakes Ranch. Book ahead for the discount if you want to run in the mud or to turn up and enjoy the spectacle and be part of the club picnic following the event.
15 Jan, 2011: Challenge Wanaka – a group of Rats are looking to travel together to this event. If you want to be part of it email the club for details.
Weekly Events:
Sunday
Bunch Ride: Avantiplus Cycle Zone, 9am start, about 2.5 to 3 hours with a coffee stop so bring some cash if you want anything. There is also the beginner’s level ride for anyone who doesn’t want to ride that long. Same start time and place.
Swim Squad: 4pm at the aquatics centre with Deborah and Clay in the outdoor pool.
Monday
City Night Riding: 5:30pm from CycleZone. Clay leads us on a lap of the city so bring your lights.
Tuesday
Swim Squad: 6am at the aquatic centre, lanes 1-3. Cost is $2.
Spin Class: 22 Geddes Rd, Koutu. Doors open at 6pm, start sweating at 6:15. Cost is $5 for members, $7 for people who should be members. You can pay in advance for the 10 week session at $30 for members and $50 for everyone else.

Swim Squad: 6am at the aquatic centre, lanes 1-3. Cost is $2.
Friday
Saturday
Running Sessions: Meet at the Blue Lake waterski club house, 9am start. Cost free for Rats members, $5 for those who should be Rats members.
Running skills clinic: Work through drills, general running technique with pointers, stretches, and core work. A great time to help get the technique right before putting in the long winter miles. Cost free for Rats members, $5 for those who should be Rats members.
